Mr. Bagalis provides economic damages expert witness testimony in federal and state courts across the United States and in alternative dispute resolution forums including the American Arbitration Association and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services. He has also served as a court-appointed neutral expert witness in complex commercial matters.
His damages expertise encompasses economic loss calculations, lost profit analyses, business interruption claims, diminution in value assessments, breach of contract damages, unfair competition claims, business valuation disputes, intellectual property infringement damages, labor and employment damages, and financial fraud investigations.
Mr. Bagalis has extensive national experience in post-transaction disputes involving purchase price adjustments, earnout provisions, and representation and warranty matters. His experience in matrimonial dissolution proceedings includes forensic financial analyses, valuations of closely-held business interests, determinations of income for support obligation purposes, marital lifestyle analyses, and expert testimony in post-divorce modification and enforcement matters.
In addition, his experience encompasses both civil and criminal litigation matters involving complex forensic accounting issues, including alter ego determinations, corporate veil piercing, and fraudulent transfers.
Prior to joining Accurity Group, Mr. Bagalis served as a Senior Director at a national financial advisory firm providing expert witness opinions, financial discovery, forensic accounting analyses, and business valuation services. His experience prior to litigation support and expert witness services included extensive operational and financial leadership roles in manufacturing, internal audit, and public accounting.
Automotive and Manufacturing
Mr. Bagalis served as a Financial Controller at a global automotive manufacturer, where he directed financial reporting, cost accounting systems, and manufacturing financial controls. His responsibilities included preparation of external financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal management reporting for operational decision-making, coordination with external auditors, and oversight of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
Financial and Operational Internal Audit
Mr. Bagalis co-founded an internal audit co-sourcing firm providing comprehensive audit services to public and private companies. He designed and implemented risk-based audit methodologies and led engagements for clients across multiple industries, including operational and financial audit engagements for Tier 1 global automotive suppliers.
Public Accounting
Mr. Bagalis’s public accounting background includes experience with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, where he performed financial statement audits, compliance assessments, and internal control evaluations involving transportation equipment manufacturing, motor vehicle manufacturing, and consumer goods manufacturing.
